seasoned actor Amitabh Bachchan Has moved the Delhi High Court for the protection of his personality rights. The actor’s voice and images have been widely used at various places over the years and now Big B has sought protection from the same. Eminent lawyer Harish Salve appeared for him in the court where his plea was heard today. The court directed the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and telecom service providers to remove the flagged content and said that Big B’s name, image or voice cannot be used without his permission.
Salve said, “I am just giving an impression of what is going on. Somebody is making T-shirts and putting his face on them. Somebody is selling his poster. Somebody go and register the domain name amitabhbachchan.com It’s over. That’s why we came.”
He said, “This nonsense has been going on for some time… There is a lottery in Gujarat where the defendant has copied the logo of KBC, where his pictures are… It appears to be a scam. There is no lottery.. No one wins.”

While ruling in favor of Amitabh Bachchan, Justice Navin Chawla said, “It cannot be seriously disputed that the plaintiff is a well-known personality and is also represented in various advertisements”.
The High Court said, “The Plaintiff is aggrieved by the Defendants’ unauthorized use of their celebrity status to promote their goods and services without their permission or authorization. I hold that the Plaintiff has prima facie The parties have made a good case. The balance of convenience is also in favor of the plaintiff and against the defendant.”
IT said, “The defendants are using his (Bachchan’s) position to promote their activities without his permission, which is likely to cause grievous loss and irreparable injury to the plaintiff. In fact, some of the activities may even bring defamation.” Can.” Plaintiff.”
