Big Boss 16: Ankit Gupta was evicted last week by being voted out by the housemates for making the least contribution to the show among the nominated contenders. While he was termed as an inactive member of the house, there was a huge fan base for him. After the elimination, BB supporters were shocked and took to Twitter to request that BB bring them back into the house. Now, days after his eviction, the actor continues to rule the microblogging site as fans have flooded Twitter with requests for his return as a wild card from BB.
Ankit Gupta fans started the trend “BB GET ANKIT AS WILDCARD” on Twitter. Many criticized the removal and urged the makers to bring the actor back to the show. One user wrote, “Whatever I want is in the hands of the makers and creative team of Colors channel, please call them to bring her back in the show.” Another user tweeted, “They knew they couldn’t evict Ankit based on audience votes so they did.” A third user wrote, “Ankit is still trending worldwide!!..last 5 days!! @ColorsTV! people love him.” A user also wrote, “I will see Ankit Gupta sleeping watching the troupe and their boring session.”
According to a report in India Forums, Ankit’s fans also protested outside Viacom18’s office in Mumbai. He protested against the makers of the show that they ousted Ankit from the show despite getting a large number of public votes.
Meanwhile, the TV actor was asked if he would return to the show. He told Bombay Times, “I will only go for Priyanka.” He said, “The so-called ‘troupe’ (the group that currently includes Sajid Khan, Shiv Thackeray, Nimrit Ahluwalia, Sumbul Tauqueer and MC Steyn) targeted me and threw me out of the show. Even Archana (Gautam ) also became part of it. The gang did the same. Their target has always been me and Priyanka, but this time luckily Priyanka escaped nomination and I was thrown out.
Well, only time will tell whether the uproar on social media will be able to convince the makers to bring back Ankit Gupta in the show or not.
