Shahrukh Khan The first song of the harsh Pathan film ‘Besharam Rang’ has been embroiled in controversy ever since its release on the internet. While many political figures and others raised concerns about the ‘saffron colored bikini’, there were also protests to boycott the film. Now Bajrang Dal has removed Pathan’s poster outside a movie theater named Rahul Cinema in Shivajinagar, Pune. This is not the first instance, earlier members of VHP and Bajrang Dal vandalized film posters in a mall in Ahmedabad.

In several videos circulating on social media, members of the VHP and Bajrang Dal can be seen raising slogans, tearing posters of the film and stomping on large cutouts of “Pathan”, which also feature the picture. Bajrang Dal has also threatened that they will not allow the film to be released in Gujarat. We want the makers of ‘Pathan’ to remove the word ‘Besharam Rang’ from the song and also remove the scenes where the actress is seen in a saffron outfit in the song. If these two changes are not made, we will not allow screening of Pathan in Gujarat. Though we are against the title of the film as well, as it propagates love jihad, our main demand at present is about that song,” said Bajrang Dal North Gujarat president Jwalit Mehta, Gujarat VHP spokesperson Hitendrasinh Rajput Said that the “shameless colour” should ideally be removed from the film.

Meanwhile, the censor board asked production banner Yash Raj Films to implement the changes and submit a revised version of the film before its January 25 release. It did not specify what the changes are. CBFC chairman Prasoon Joshi said that the committee has directed the producers to “implement the suggested changes in the film including the songs and submit the revised version before theatrical release”.

Furthermore, a complaint has been filed in a court in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district, seeking registration of an FIR against Shah Rukh, Deepika and others for “hurting the religious sentiments” of Hindus in the song.
