
Drishyam 2 Box Office Collection Day 26: It’s been almost a month since Ajay Devgn and Tabu starrer Drishyam 2 released in the theaters and it is still making a mark at the box office. Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the mystery film managed to create the same magic as the first installment of the franchise. This time the twists and turns of the story were mesmerizing and intriguing. whereas Mohan Lal Harsh Drishyam 2 had already released in Malayalam, Ajay Devgan Harsh was not impressed. While Drishyam 2 saw a slight drop in its collections, it still fared better than other Bollywood movies like Salaam Venky and An Action Hero.
Reportedly, Drishyam 2 collected around Rs 1.50 crore on 26 December, 13 December. Recently, the film has been earning over Rs 2 crore on day one and has seen a drop in the fourth week. Its total box office collection now stands at Rs 212.86 crore. The film managed to earn more than Rs 30 crore in the third week and according to Box Office India, “It is the first original Hindi film to cross Rs 30 crore nett after the pandemic, although Brahmastra and The Kashmir Files were close”. “

It cannot be denied that Bollywood is going through a slump at the box-office in 2022 and ‘Drishyam 2’ is acting as a tonic to revive it. Talking about the same, Ajay Devgn said, “To talk about tonic, I think it needs three or four Drishyam – that’s what is required, I hope it is the beginning.”
He said: “I think it’s not very easy to make entertaining films – you have to keep the audience engaged for two and a half hours. And the audience has become very smart, so you can’t just fool them. Even when you do commercial cinema, When it comes to entertainment, you have to give them something new.”
‘Drishyam’ is based on the 2021 Malayalam film of the same name, which is also serving as a sequel to the 2015 film Drishyam, which in turn was adapted from a 2013 Malayalam film.

Next up for Ajay Devgn is ‘Bhola’, a remake of 2019 Tamil-language hit ‘Kaithi’ (Prisoner) by Lokesh Kanagaraj, which he is also directing. The film is in post-production and is slated to release in March 2023.
Maidan, a period biographical soccer film based on the life of legendary Indian coach Syed Abdul Rahim, is also set for theatrical release. The film, which stars Priyamani, Rudranil Ghosh and Gajraj Rao in other prominent roles, and has music by AR Rahman, is scheduled to release on February 17, 2023.
