Abhishek Pathak, who recently directed Ajay Devgn-Tabu starrer Drishyam 2, is all set to tie the knot with his longtime girlfriend and Khuda Hafiz actress Shivalika Oberoi in February this year. Abhishek proposes Shivalika for marriage in Turkey under a hot air balloon. According to ANI, the wedding will last for 2 days in Goa with family and close friends in attendance. Bollywood celebrities are said to attend the wedding and bless the couple.
It has been confirmed that they will tie the knot next month, but the official wedding date is yet to be announced.
The couple had a dreamy proposal in Turkey, where Abhishek Pathak proposed to Shivaleeka Oberoi under hot hair balloons. The grand proposal video also took social media by storm.
In her earlier interviews, Shivalika had spoken about how she met Abhishek and hit it off instantly. “Everyone he knew was shocked. Of course, few people knew about our relationship, but by and large, people knew that we were connected through our work. I auditioned for Khuda Hafiz, and I still Remember I met Kumar ji (Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek’s father). Before I met Abhishek. We came to know later that we had common friends. With time, things settled down on their own.”
“It hasn’t been long since we saw each other, but when something feels right, it is. Abhishek was already shooting for Drishyam 2. We have worked together in the last two years despite so many restrictions. Find ways to pass the time.” the actress had said.
On the work front, Abhishek Pathak directed the blockbuster film ‘Drishyam 2’ which collected around Rs 230+ crores at the box office. ‘Drishyam 2’ released on November 18 last year and starred Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Shriya Saran and Akshaye Khanna in lead roles. The Hindi version, headlined by Ajay, was a remake of the 2013 Malayalam film of the same name, starring Mohan Lal as a leader. It was helmed by National Award-winning director Nishikant Kamat, who passed away in 2020 at the age of 50.
On the other hand, Shivaleeka Oberoi was last seen in ‘Khuda Hafiz 2’ alongside Vidyut Jammwal. Directed by Farooq Kabir, ‘Khuda Hafiz 2’ was an interesting sequel to his romantic thriller ‘Khuda Hafiz’, which released on OTT streaming giant Disney Plus Hotstar in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. ‘Khuda Hafiz 2’ hit the theaters on July 8 last year.
