The 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) will pay tribute to the megastar of Indian cinema, Lata Mangeshkar, T Rama Rao. Bappi LahiriPandit Birju Maharaj, Pandit Shivkumar Sharma and Tarun Majumdar among others in the upcoming edition.
The film festival will celebrate the exemplary work of artists who passed away last year, creating a huge void in the Indian film industry.
As part of the memorial, a film each by Lahiri (disco dancer), Bhupinder Singh (Mausam) will be screened at the film festival. KK (Bhool Bhulaiyaa), KPAC Lalita (Shantam), Mangeshkar (Pride), Pt. Birju Maharaj (Dedh Ishqiya), Pt. Shivkumar Sharma (Lamhe), Ritubedham and Ramesh Dev (Saraswatichandra) directed by Pratap Pothen.
Other films to be screened under the tribute section are Ravi Tandon’s directorial Anahoni, Salim Ghaus (Thiruda Thiruda), Saawan Kumar Tak’s directorial Souten, Shiva Kumar Subramaniam (Parinda), T. Rama Rao’s Jeevan Tarangalu, in which Krishnam Raju is an invitation from Tarun Majumdar. and Vatsala Deshmukh (Pinjara).
