
BTS management agency BigHit Music said on Monday that member Jin, who will soon be conscripted for military duty, will enter the grounds of the recruitment training center in a vehicle without being greeted separately by media or fans. According to entertainment website Soompi, the Seoul-based company appealed to the ARMY – BTS’ fan group – and media persons not to crowd the site.
“Jin will enlist in the military as an active-duty soldier to fulfill his military duty. As we’ve announced before, there is no separate official schedule on the day of entry into the Recruit Training Center. Soldiers on site day, A large crowd is expected to recruit family members and some fans.
“We ask the media to refrain from visiting the site. To prevent security accidents caused by overcrowding at the site, vehicles in which recruits will enter the grounds of the training center without separate greetings from the media or fans, Bighit Music said in the statement.
Citing military and industry sources, Korean media said the 30-year-old singer would enter boot camp at a front-line army division in Yeoncheon, 60 kilometers north of Seoul, on Tuesday.
Jin is the eldest member of the South Korean music group BTS, which also includes RM, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook. In South Korea, all able-bodied males aged 18–28 are required to serve in the military for approximately two years. All BTS members were allowed to start their military service until the age of 30.
In its statement, the BTS agency said, “There is no separate waiting room for journalists.” “The agency will not give up its efforts and continued support until Jin completes his military service duties and returns to good health,” the company said. On Sunday evening, Jin posted a selfie on the global fan community forum Weavers, showing him getting his military haircut.
Bighit Music previously stated that the other members are planning to do their military service based on their plans. The group, which debuted in 2013, is currently on a break as a unit, with each member pursuing solo projects. They had announced their break in June this year. BTS is expected to reunite as a unit around 2025 following their service commitment.
