Kantara Box Office Collection: Last week, the Rishabh Shetty film slowed down a bit after it completed more than 50 days of release. This was the first time it had earned less than Rs 1 crore at the ticket window. However, it was surprising to see the film registering growth once again on Sunday. At a time when films are finding it difficult to survive at the box office, Kantara has been an exception. It has managed to stay strong throughout.

As per the initial reports, Kantara managed to collect Rs 2 crore on Sunday. This is a huge number as the film is almost two months old now. Besides this, it is competing with new releases like Drishyam 2, Black Panther 2, Yashoda and Unchai. Reportedly, the film has done a worldwide business of over Rs 370 crore so far. Also, trade reports suggested that the Hindi dub of the film is expected to earn Rs 100 crore soon. It recently touched the $3 million mark in the US.
About Kantara
Made on a relatively meager budget of around Rs 16 crore, the film revolving around obscure customs, traditions and local folklore is becoming a hit outside Karnataka as well. It registered the highest footfall numbers surpassing the figures of KGF series and became the third highest grosser of the year after ‘KGF Chapter 2’ and ‘RRR’. The film has also performed exceptionally well overseas. It recently touched the $3 million mark in the US.
Kantara was released in Kannada version and Hindi version on 30 September and 14 October respectively. The film is written and directed by Rishab Shetty. Produced by Vijay Kiragandur and Chaluve Gowda under Homebel Films, the film stars Rishab Shetty, Saptami Gowda and Kishore Kumar in lead roles.
