Kantara Hindi Box Office Collection: Directed by Rishabh Shetty, Kantara has managed to leave an impression on the fans which will be felt in times to come. Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise became a huge hit in the Hindi region and its dubbed version grossed over Rs 100 crore, with several regional films making inroads in the northern regions. The latest to impress fans is Kantara, which after a huge regional success hit the big screen on October 14 with Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions.
Kantara took big Bollywood release
While it was believed that Kantara would be challenged by the latest Bollywood releases Ram Setu and Thank God, the regional film has held its own and the numbers have shown a slow but steady growth. After running for more than two weeks in cinema halls, the Hindi version has managed to earn Rs 32 crore. The business of the first week was Rs 15 crore and the collection of the second week was Rs 16.70 crore. Not only is the second week of the film longer than the first week, but it is also facing huge opposition from Hindi films and Hollywood release Black Adam.

Kantara Hindi beats other regional hits
Kantara has become a huge hit in the local Kannada market. The collection in Karnataka stood at Rs 143 crore, and counting. In Hindi, its collection is over Rs 32 crore and more business is expected over the weekend. For its Hindi collection, it has surpassed Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan I, R Madhavan’s Rocketry: The Nambi Effect and Rakshit Shetty’s 777 Charlie. Kantara is competing hard with the Hindi version of Karthikeya 2 and has become the second highest-grossing regional film after Yash starrer KGF: Chapter 2.
Kantara to release on OTT soon?
After Kantara’s huge success, high hopes are being set for its OTT premiere. However, producer Karthik Gowda clarified the matter by tweeting, “False news! We will let you know when it will come but definitely not 4th November (sic).”
