Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan managed to impress the fans yet again with his last release Laal Singh Chaddha Aamir Khan, While Kareena has played many glamorous roles in her career, she is on a spree to play more realistic characters in her upcoming films. The actress recently wrapped up shooting for Hansal Mehta’s upcoming film. About the film, Kareena says she is marking a new phase in her illustrious career with a series of films which she calls “shockingly different”. In the upcoming Hansal Mehta film, the actress’ character is inspired by Hollywood star Kate Winslet’s role in ‘The Mayor of Easttown’.
Kareena Kapoor Khan plays a detective and mother who investigates a murder in a town in Buckinghamshire. The film has been shot in the UK under the working title ‘The Buckingham Murders’. Talking about her character, Kareena told Variety, “I love ‘Mayor of Easttown’ and when Hansal came to me, I said it’s something I’m really looking forward to doing. So we molded a little bit along those lines.” , she plays the role of a detective cop in it.”
“This is the first time I have dominated that. I speak Hindi fluently and I think in Hindi too because that’s what I’ve been doing all my life. When you’re thinking in Hindi but speaking in English, it’s really I had a tough job because it was the opposite situation for the first time.”
Produced by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms and Mahana Films, the project also marks Kareena’s debut as a producer. “I never really thought I’d be a producer. But when I heard the subject, and the fact that it’s so different from a regular Hindi film, it’s so different to things. So I thought this Would be really cool and different.” Kapoor said.
“And that’s when Ekta and Hansal told me that ‘since you love the script so much, why don’t you come on board as a creative producer as well, and take some calls what do you think and give it your name? ‘ – After much thought, I thought that if I love something so much, and it’s a character I wanted to play, then I feel like having fun doing it. Kareena said of the film, “For me, it’s very different because obviously you are used to seeing me in all mainstream films, which have songs, dance, glitz, glamour. These two films are surprisingly different. “
Along with Tabu and Kareena, Kareena also has Rajesh Krishnan’s The Crew kriti sanon In the pipeline, which starts production in March. Kareena said, “‘The Crew’ is a film which is full of glitz and glamour. And it is a comedy chick flick heist film. It will be a Hindi masala commercial film compared to ‘Bhakti’ and Hansal’s film.”
