Liam Hemsworth will replace Henry Cavill in The Witcher season 4

Magician The epic drama series has been renewed for a fourth season by Netflix with The Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth to replace Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia.

Cavill, who revealed earlier this week that he would return to the role of Superman after an appearance in Black Adam, played Geralt of Rivia, the curse of the supernatural beast in the show’s first three seasons. The announcement comes ahead of The Witcher’s third season, which will arrive in the summer of 2023.

Cavill said that his journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with both monsters and adventure, and he will lay down his medals and swords for season four.

“In my place, the illustrious Mr. Liam Hemsworth will command the White Wolf. Like the greatest literary characters, I pass the torch with respect for the time spent embodying Geralt and calling Liam this most charming and subtle of men. Excited to watch the look. Liam, good sir, this character has such amazing depth to him, enjoy diving into it and see what you can find,” the actor quoted entertainment website Deadline in a statement. Said to.

Hemsworth, who most recently starred in the Quibi drama Most Dangerous Game, said he is over the moon as a Witcher fan to play Geralt of Rivia. “Henry Cavill has been an incredible Geralt, and I am honored that he is handing me the reins and allowing me to take the Blade of the White Wolf for the next chapter of my adventure.

“Henry, I’ve been a fan of yours for years and was inspired by what you brought to this beloved character. I may have some big shoes to fill, but I’m really excited to step into the world of The Witcher I am,” he said.

According to sources, Cavill had a short-term deal for The Witcher and felt it was time to move on after three seasons of the show, which films overseas and has an on-demand production schedule.

Set on a fictional, medieval-inspired terrain known as the Continent, The Witcher explores the legend of Geralt of Rivia and Princess Siri, who are connected to each other by destiny. It also stars Anya Chalotra and Freya Allen.

Meanwhile, the four-part prequel series, The Witcher: Blood Origin, will premiere on December 25, 2022.
