Mission Majnu trailer out: Set against the backdrop of the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, Siddharth MalhotraThe upcoming film looks to be the trendsetter of the year. The trailer released today and features Siddharth as Amandeep Singh, an Indian spy who is given a mission to find Pakistan’s nuclear weapons facility. To hide his identity, Siddharth works as a tailor and marries a Pakistani blind girl played by Rashmika Mandanna. He eventually falls in love with his wife.

Sidharth Malhotra, whose last release was the comedy Thank God, says he is looking forward to the release of Mission Majnu. “I am quite excited about Mission Majnu as it is the first time I am playing the role of a spy. It showcases India’s most thrilling covert mission that changed the politics between India and its neighboring nation in the 1970s. With Netflix, I’m sure this incredible story will resonate with people around the world,” said the actor.
Siddharth’s last action film Sher Shah was well received by the fans. Now he will be seen doing action once again in Mission Majnu. The trailer also shows him performing a dangerous stunt by jumping off a moving train. The film is scheduled to release on January 20. Its streaming rights have been bought by Netflix.
Apart from Siddharth and Rashmika, the spy thriller also stars Sharib Hashmi, Kumud Mishra, Parmeet Sethi and Zakir Hussain in key roles. Mission Majnu is the directorial debut of Shantanu Bagchi and produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Amar Butala and Garima Mehta.
