There is no release of top actors in Diwali of 2022 like RajinikanthVijay, Ajit and Kamala hasanBut it is still interesting as this time the clash at the box office is between two of the most happening stars of the Tamil film industry – Karthi and Karthi. sivakarthikeyan,
On one hand, you have Karthi, who has been having a stellar year with consecutive hits. In August, he rolled out Viruman, which, despite mixed reviews, ended up as a commercial success, maintaining the core audience he developed since his first Paruthiveeran. Then the biggest release of his career was – ponniyin selvan 1, which is continuing its dream run at the box office. His character Vallavarayan Vandhiyathevan became a fan favorite. Even as the film is inching towards the Rs 475 crore mark, Karthi is coming up with Sardar, who will compete with his own film. Suffice it to show what Karthi has been up to a year. Sardar, touted as the ‘full meal’, will be a level-up for Karthi if it strikes a chord with the audience.
Karthi plays a dual role in Sardar. Apart from Karthi, it stars Raashi Khanna, Rajisha Vijayan, Chunky Pandey and Laila. talk to Indian ExpressPS Mithran, director of Sadar, said, “Come, have a full meal. We have everything: things you’ve seen before, things you haven’t seen before, old things in a different dimension. The film has got it all. It looks like Karthi’s film will be such a heartwarming affair that will entice everyone.
However, he is currently competing with Kollywood’s most bankable star – Sivakarthikeyan, who has churned out Don, one of the biggest hits of this year. On top of that, Prince is directed by Anudeep of Jaati Ratnalu fame, which gives the film a chance in the Telugu market as well. For now, Shiv only has a tremendous trailer for Rajkumar, which hasn’t worked in favor of the film. It remains to be seen whether Anudeep’s brand of comedy, which has worked well with the Telugu audience, strikes a chord in Tamil Nadu.
As far as style is concerned, Rajkumar is the complete opposite of Sardar. While Karthi is coming up with a high-concept thriller, Sivakarthikeyan’s film is a simple comedy about a Tamil boy who falls in love with a Brit woman who is his colleague in a school. It stars Ukrainian actress Maria in the lead role.
All said and done, since it is Diwali, there is enough room for the two films to coexist as we are looking at a long holiday week. On top of that, healthy competition is also a nice spectacle to watch like a movie.
