Sheezan Khan in 14 days judicial custody; Refuses to cut hair, asks for home cooked food

Tunisha Sharma death case: A court in Maharashtra’s Palghar district on Saturday sent actor Sheezan Khan, arrested for abetting the suicide of his co-actress Tunisha Sharma, to 14-day judicial custody. Sheejan was produced before a magistrate’s court in Vasai after his police custody ended on Saturday. On Friday, the police custody was extended by one more day.

Meanwhile, Shejahan, while in judicial custody, has put forth certain conditions on his behalf through his lawyers. He has asked for home cooked food. He has also said that he will not cut his hair while in custody. The counsel submitted that Sheejan has also sought permission to use an inhaler for her asthma. The counsel for the accused also sought permission to meet the family members and lawyers during his custody. He has also pleaded for security in the jail.

The magistrate sent Sheejan to judicial custody for 14 days. The 27-year-old actor was arrested by the Waliv police in Palghar district on December 26 on charges of abetting Sharma’s suicide. A case has been registered against him under section 306 (abetment of suicide) of the Indian Penal Code.

Tunisha, who is currently acting in the TV serial Ali Baba: Dastaan-e-Kabul, was found hanging in the washroom on the sets of the show near Vasai on December 24. Her mother has alleged that Sheejan cheated and “used” her daughter. She also claimed that Sheezan slapped her daughter on the sets of a TV show they were part of to teach her Urdu and wanted her to wear a hijab.
