Veteran director Subhash Ghai seems unhappy with all the new generation actors. They believe it is their dedication or lack of seriousness towards the job. The director also revealed how these young actors are different from the 90s star Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan other Aamir Khan, He admits that the young crop of actors is more focused on securing big brand deals and making money out of them, rather than them.
Speaking about the changes now in the process of filmmaking and the behavior of the new generation of actors, he said, “The actors of the 90s still understand the importance of story, be it Shah Rukh, Salman or Aamir. They want the job to go well and they know the money will follow. But today’s generation wants money to come first; They are just bothered about their personal branding and fees; They think they’ve become a big brand, and they’re surrounded by a crew that tells them to look either left or right.. Those saucy people who leave their shoots to advertise (looks like soap and oil people leave on their shooting film for commercials and commercials).
The director continued, “Of course, farak padega na (of course it will matter)? Have you ever heard of Rajesh Khanna or Anil Kapoor Advertisement in its heyday? Aap theatre se ghar aao toh actor tel bechara hai (You come back from a movie and the actor is selling oil on television), you wonder what happened to him as you saw him talking on the big screen. About patriotism”.
Subhash Ghai has entertained us with blockbuster movies like ‘Pardes’, ‘Karz’, ‘Taal’. He made his first film ‘Kalicharan’ with Shatrughan Sinha in 1976 which was also a huge hit of that era.
