India’s Under-19 women’s team on Sunday created history by winning the first-ever World Cup for India in women’s cricket. Shafali Verma’s team India defeated England by 7 wickets in the final of the Under-19 World Cup. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bollywood celebrities, Ajay Devgn, Esha Deol came forward to wish the team. It was a historic tour for Girls in Blue. They dominated from the start and never looked back.
Our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi expressed pride in the historic victory. He took to his Twitter and wrote, “Congratulations to the Indian team for a special win in the @ICC #U19T20WorldCup. They have played excellent cricket and their success will inspire many upcoming cricketers. Best wishes to the team for their future endeavours”.
