Warisu Vs Thunivu Box Office Collection Day 1: It was a huge celebration down south as Ajith Kumar’s Thunivu and Thalapathy Vijay-Rashmika Mandanna’s Warisu released in theaters on January 11. Despite the tough competition, the films have managed to score big, which might have fueled the craze of the two films. As per early estimates, Warisu has managed to open at Rs 21-23 crore across India with the Tamil version garnering mixed response from the audience. On the other hand, Thunivu has an estimated earning of Rs 22.5 crore.
According to Box Office India, “Tamil Nadu saw two big releases during Pongal time with Thunuva and Varisu and both opened strong. But clash also means market share, so it means that both the films have Collection will not be huge both the films are doing 80-90% occupancy.” He further added, “It is a long extended weekend and holiday period, so films can take advantage of it, but it will depend on the reports.”

Warisu is the story of a man who is the son of a business tycoon. He was forced to take over his father’s empire under some unfavorable circumstances. The screenplay of the film is jointly written by directors Vamshi Paidipally, Hari and Ashish Solomon. Rashmika Mandanna appeared as the female lead opposite Vijay. Besides him, it also features a stellar supporting cast including R Sarath Kumar, Prakash Raj, Jayasudha, Khushbu, Srikanth, Shaam, Yogi Babu and Sangeeta Krish. Producer Dil Raju has backed the film under his banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations. S Thaman has composed the music for the film.
